Last week saw the MWL Systems team put their baking skills to the test as they joined thousands of people from across the UK to take part in the world’s biggest coffee morning and raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This was a fantastic opportunity for MWL team to get together, raise funds for a fantastic cause and, of course, eat lots of cake!
The picture below shows our very own Paul Hollywood and chief taster, Geoff shone, commenting on the superb filling of one of the winning sponges. Best cake of the day and winner of a gift voucher was Dan Blain for his delicious cupcakes. Congratulations Dan!
Catherine and Steph took time out from swapping code to swapping cupcake recipes.
And finally, we have Matt Kingsley-Williams, James Dawson and Leigh Wedley literally having their cake and eating it too as they cheers to yet another successful fundraising event.
History of the Macmillan Coffee Morning
With the first coffee morning taking place in 1990, the concept has grown exponentially in the 29 years since. Now with its own official date of 27th September, an astounding £200 million has been raised for Macmillan in the years since.
For the MWL Systems team, this year’s cakes have been eaten and money has been counted, and we are very proud to reveal that we raised an amazing £100 for this wonderful charity.
