As we near the festive period, many businesses begin to plan how they will thank their clients and contacts for yet another successful year. For the majority of businesses this means sending Christmas cards, and for many years this is exactly what MWL Systems has done. However, this year we wanted to use the festive period to give back to local causes, therefore, rather than send out our traditional Christmas cards, we will be donating £1000, split between four great causes.
We believe that giving back to the community is an essential aspect to any successful business, and therefore we couldn’t be more excited to contribute towards four local charities that provide an invaluable service throughout the North West and North Wales.
MWL Systems will donated £250 to each of the four charities, which include:
Hope House provides support and care to children and young people with life limiting conditions, as well as support for their families. With hospices in Oswestry, Shropshire and Tŷ Gobaith in Conwy, the dedicated team at Hope House provides 24/7 support to those that visit their hospices.
Nightingale House provides free specialist palliative care services to patients and families across North East Wales including Wrexham, Flintshire, East Denbighshire, as well Barmouth and border towns Oswestry and Whitchurch.
“We have been working with MWL for a number of years and they provide excellent IT support for the Hospice. We feel very lucky this year to be one of their chosen charities to receive a donation of £250 in lieu of Christmas cards to their customers. Thank you so much for your generous donation” – Lauren Tilston, Head of Fundraising, Nightingale House Hospice
Based on the Wirral, Wirral Hospice St John’s provides free hospice care to adult patients with life-limiting illnesses, including heart, liver and kidney disease and cancer, as well as support for the carers and loved ones of patients.
Providing free support and care to patients and families living with an incurable illness, Severn Hospice provides their services to those across Shropshire and Mid Wales, and has done so for nearly 30 years.
Lucy Ruff, fundraising manager at Severn Hospice has said: “We’re very grateful that MWL Systems have chosen to support us during the festive period.
Saving money on Christmas cards to make a donation to us is a great idea – we’re really appreciative of their gesture and goodwill.
Their generosity and support will mean we can offer care and emotional support to families living with incurable illnesses when they need us most.”
Not only will our donations go towards supporting four amazing charities, but also, by not sending out Christmas cards, we are doing our part to protect the environment. To put into perspective the impact that Christmas cards have on the environment, according to research the average number of Christmas cards sent each year is equal to 200,000 trees. The team at MWL Systems are committed to playing their part, however small, in supporting environmental initiatives.
On behalf of the entire MWL Systems team, we would like to say a huge thank you to clients and contacts for making our 2018 a huge success. If you would also like to support any of the charities above please don’t hesitate to visit their website to see how you can get involved.
