Elite Group’s Technology HQ Achieves Globally Recognised Quality Accreditation

Elite Group’s technology HQ at Wrexham has achieved one of the highest, globally recognised quality management system accreditations in the IT industry.

The ISO27001 is the international standard that sets out the best practice specification for a company’s Information Security Management System (ISMS).  A framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal and technical controls involved in an organisation’s risk management process, its best-practice approach helps organisations measure their level of information security by assessing people and processes as well as technology.

Independently accredited certification to the standard is recognised around the world as an indication that a company’s ISMS is aligned with information security best practice.

Matt Kingsley-Williams, Elite Group’s Director of IT Operations, formerly MD of MWL Systems, said: “Along with the successful outcome of our ISO 22301 Business Continuity Audit back in March of this year, this is a fantastic result under normal circumstances of operating, let alone under the unique and difficult conditions of the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown.  We are incredibly proud of every one of our talented team members, who have once again pulled out all the stops in order to succeed.”

“Achieving ISO 27001 is one of the highest external seals of approval. When we were operating as MWL Systems, we always knew we were doing the right things, having already achieved ISO 9001, which proved we had met all the criteria of this globally recognised quality standard.  We then worked towards achieving ISO 27001 accreditation. The route to achieving this status was accelerated following the acquisition last year, as we gained the benefit of Elite Group’s expertise and knowledge of the process.

“We are delighted that yet again, our team has achieved such a well-respected external stamp of approval, proving we’ve got the best possible systems and processes in place to look after not only our own, but our customers’ data.  All our hard work, investment in technology, physical infrastructure, IT systems and staff training in order to achieve the stringent standards required to be truly globally recognised has finally paid off!”

This accolade sends a great message to Elite’s customers and potential clients that the company is serious about data security and is leading the way globally, rather than following, which is hugely important as a technology company dealing with clients’ systems and sensitive, business-critical data.

Matt concluded: “It’s good news for our customers, as to be so highly accredited emphasises our competence and trustworthiness.  It sets us apart from other, similar sized organisations in our sphere and importantly it will allow us to demonstrate our capabilities on a more equal footing with the giant players in the IT industry.  Now, more than ever, businesses can have complete trust in our data protection credentials and capabilities and know they are in safe hands.”
